surprised I only vaguely recognize

about 5 people on here. Only two people who I had connections with (Paris, Amani). I hang out with Buckwheat all the time these days, he's doin' pretty good. He's the one who showed me this place, actually.

Somebody asked about Rick. The short, psychotic "chemist"? I heard he died about ten or so years ago.

See Tygar occasionally... Scotty. I'd love to see Ben and Jingles. Is it true they married? Bradley told me they had a few years back. (btw Brad, sorry if I hurted your feelings ; ) Saw Fish at the barter faire a few weeks ago. He's got kids and is a nurse now. Actually, that's the last place I saw Che, too. Anyone know what happened to him? I was sorry to see I missed his memorial.

Saw Moonflower at the B. Faire also. Am in touch with Jason (Jah-Sun, the travelling minstrel). Travelled with him north to see Joules a few months back. Seen Sierra and Adrian of course. Whatever happened to that guy Isaac? There's a Bandido that comes to the Buddhist temple I live at who used to hang out also, but I forget his name.

whatever happened to: Lisa, Aiden, Jem, T.J., Dylan, Al, Mishka, Lav, (not that I know everyone on this list.... Just curious) ummmm...

    Phinneas directed me here, I'm suprised Paris didn't.
    We ran into Amani in Fremont last time we came up to visit...I am suprised to not see more fam at country faire, we see Vivian every year and got back in touch with Paris at faire.

    You mean Ricky Jolly.... ya we heard dead too. How is Tygar? Che was alive and kickin' last time I saw him but that was '98 or '99 at that bar at the top of the ave. on Dead night.

    As far as your list goes I know Gem is good, and I don't know about anyone else. I have the same list and have been trying to find out.

      Che intentionally overdosed himself on Colonopin(sp?) while babysitiing his son for the weekend...died with Tyler in the room & all the doors & windows locked...Willow, his ex-wife & Tyler's mom, came to pick him up...no answer at the door, but could hear Tyler crying...had to break a window to get to him...he'd been alone with the corpse for 2 days with no food...they had just moved to Idaho a few months prior to convert thier bus into an RV & of Che pretty much rab thier relationship into the ground & started doping out on pills to mask his depression...as for Tygar, Jaques told me that He & Joni had a kid, but she dumped him at one point cuz he was all fucked up again, & that he got shot on the Ave...this was a few years ago...Jaques is still Jaques...trying to contact aliens with his gadgets & gizmos...had drinks with Bones about a year ago at Kincora...saw Aemon(sp?) on the bus downtown last year...saw Trader Sean last week on the Ave...& haven't seen Idiot Rick since summer 97...he'd just had a kid with some girl & was slingin meth out the kid's diaper bag...good times

          ok, so I should point out here that not everyone I've seen or heard about is doing badly or had bad stuff happen to them...Mishka was doing really well, had just gotten done touring with Edie Brickell...Jacques, although still a tad eccentric, is in good health & still working on making his dreams a reality...Aemon was in good health & seemed quite happy when I ran into him...I, myself, have been doing really well the past few years since I came out of my saturn's return...I'm coming up on the 10 year mark since I got clean from meth, I have a really good job doing metal fabrication, I produce & DJ electronic music & I am getting married next year & moving to eastern Wa to build a house & start a snowboard company with my brother...I've actually never been genuinely happier in my adult life, so that pretty much rocks...I'm particularly happy to see you all here & doing well...that truly kicks serious ass

            I am doing well. Not smoking cigs anymore. Am healthy and well. Making art and designing interiors and gardens for people. Just moved to the Berkeley hills from Hawaii. Coming home for the holidays today. Maybe I will run into someone... Maybe not. Seattle seems so different.

            BTW people call me Asha (a name from living in Puna Hawaii) but everyone knows I am Emily... so it is not a total change name- just a nickname. it means "hope" in Sanskrit. Been studying yoga and the vedic system off and on over the past few years, as well as Hawaiian healing systems, Ho'oPonoPono.

            I ran into someone I did not expect to the other day in the Bay Area, Van. Anyone remember a guy named Van?

            I heard that Ricky got sick with a really bad case of Pneumonia and died from it. I remember seeing him on a metro bus one summer (97?) and he was quite far gone. He asked me if I was a witch and then told me how a coven was after him for stealing their sacred medallion.

            Solstice is soon, anyone doing anything interesting?

              Yeah, I remember Van - unfortunately. I remember you too-a much more pleasant memory.. I had just gotten off "the boat" from Germany and you sang at the open mic from time to time. And you used to hang with this kid named Charlie who I thought was pretty cool. Played chess with him from time to time. Glad to hear you're doing well!!!

                Yeah, about the Van thing, I had only a vague memory of him, but it was sketchy. I had a feeling that he had behaved rather badly. I tried to ask him about it... but there was no polite way of asking, 'weren't you an asshole? didn't you do something really shitty to people?' So I have not pursued hanging out with him trying to avoid the whole thing all together.

                Can you remind me what his nature was? Did he do anything specific- or did he just have a generally unsavory character?

                I miss singing at the open mics.... but I am not as brave as that anymore. I don't sing A Capella at open mics anymore.

    That guy Isaac is right here lol! I just happened on the last exit forum this morning and am trying to get my memory back on all the old heads that we used to hang with. Im in southern Oregon now, a Bamboo farmer on five acres with a wife and six year old boy. What have you been up to? This is so unique to have a site where a group of people from a long ago shut down coffee shop / cultural landmark can get together years later and share their lives.           I am still in Seattle. I'm living in the U-D right now, even. Every once in awhile I go down to the old Exit patio and have a cigarette and think about the past. I'm teaching GED and basic math classes at Edmonds CC and dreaming about moving to the sticks and building myself a cob house. :-)

              i'm a coffee roastin, beer swillin, canoe paddlin superdad in Minnesota...right on the big lake...reminds me of seattle in a way, except duluth faces the wrong way, is a hell of a lot smaller and doesn't smell funny.

              yeah, looks like most of us done growed up an got ourselves some sponsibility.


              th missus an i just had our #2 (Walter Allen) a couple o weeks ago...so what little free time i had between 8 and 4:30 during th week just went bye bye!

              cute lil dickens though...thinkin i wont toss thisun back. don't tell the DNR officer though. they'll take your tackle and hand you a ticket for a hundie.

      Bamboo farming, huh? Did you ever know Simon Henderson up in the Skagit valley? He was a teacher of mine.
      It's funny how a large percentage of us renegade slackers all turned relatively stable and professional. I've got a few kids myself (16 y.o. son and 23 y.o. stepdaughter) and have run a pretty succesful window cleaning company since '97.

      I don't know what's up with Brad... i would've thought he'd have found this place by now. I saw Sierra at the barter faire a couple years ago, but I haven't seen him since. You can find Adrian online under Adrian Xavier, either on MySpace or just google him.

      Good to hear from you. Maybe one day there will be another Exit gathering we can all hang out and catch up at.
